About the Artist

Ellen Baer is an abstract painter based in Maryland. She is originally from Hamburg, a town near Buffalo, New York. The dramatic weather and beauty of the surrounding landscapes from her childhood inspire much of her work.

In several distinct series, Baer uses various means to express her joy when she experiences the brilliance of light, the power of nature, and the grandeur of geological structures. To express these themes, she uses a variety of techniques and materials, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, and wax.
